Samuel Ramírez began his musical studies at the age of 14 years with the System of Youth and Children’s Orchestras of Venezuela. For eight years, he was a member of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Caracas, directed by Maestro José Antonio Abreu and Dietrich Paredes, where he also participated in international tours featuring a range of renowned international artists. He is also a guest musician of the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, participating in international tours under the baton of Gustavo Dudamel.
Samuel participated in the Latin American Viola Academy and Simón Bolivar Music Conservatory of Venezuela, where he studied with professors Alvin Alvarez and Carmelo Méndez. In 2014 he moved to Costa Rica to continue his professional academic studies with violinist Erasmo Solerti at the University of Costa Rica, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in music in viola performance.
Currently principal viola with the Heredia Symphony Orchestra and assistant principal viola with the Symphony Orchestra of the University of Costa Rica, Samuel also serves as violin and viola instructor at the Municipal School of Music of Paraiso.
